From 1956 to 1969, Elvis Presley starred in 31 films making him one of the wealthiest performers in Hollywood but his dream of being taken seriously as an actor was never fulfilled, due to the insatiable greed of his manager.
This talk, presented by Brian Rose, will examine the ups and downs of Presley’s Hollywood career, which started off with such promise but would ultimately conclude with dozens of cheap, mediocre movies that dimmed his creativity and his reputation during the 1960s.
Registration is required.
