Event Details
Beginning in 2023, Quogue Library launched an oral history recording program in cooperation with New York Heritage Digital Collections and Long Island Library Resources Council (LILRC).
Oral histories are audio interviews with people who share their stories and experiences on a topic with an interviewer which is recorded and stored in a repository. The audio files and accompanying data are made available publicly for posterity such that historians, scholars and researchers may access them. These recorded interviews can serve as valuable primary source material for historians, documenting first-person narratives from regular citizens.
