The Gallery at Quogue Library Presents..."BUGS!" Artist Reception

Third graders at East Quogue Elementary are getting ready for an in house field trip, where an insect expert will be bringing bugs into the classroom for the students to learn about!

In art class, they prepared for their lesson by studying the parts of insects and constructing their own out of cardboard. Third grade artists selected an insect and began by creating a “blueprint,” or sketch, of what they wanted the insect to look like and plan all of the parts they would need.

Next, they cut and assembled their insects based on their plans. Finally, they finished them by adding color and texture using paint, oil pastels and collage!
